Robert Welsch owns Westover Landscape Design in Tarrytown, NY, located in the heart of Westchester County just north of New York City. Last year Westchester Magazine readers chose Robert as the “Best Landscaper in Westchester County”, which is no small accomplishment in that demanding market.

While Robert is quite versatile, he is becoming known for his ability to work with native plants and to create “wild” gardens, which are totally controlled environments that nonetheless have a lush, textured and layered look.

I have seen small little terrace and deck gardens he has designed and larger, expansive spaces. They are all characterized by a similar feeling of everything belonging there. He is not one to use weird or exotic plants for effect, quite the contrary, he wants his garden designs to last and to be maintained over time, so he designs them for homeowners to not have to fuss over precious cultivars.
