It’s available in stores and it’s beautiful! The foreward was written by Rick Darke, who is one of the most creative and challenging people working in landscape design and thought today. He notes the elegance, boldness and subtlety of the photographs, paired with Virginia Small’s perceptive and engaging text. So far all reviewers have been heaping great praise on it. It’s not just a book of pretty garden photos. I really strived from the beginning of the work on this project to create images that would move my garden photography to a new level, revealing of course the intent of the garden designer (as in the workshop I teach of the same name) but transcending that level of perception to create new vision in each garden, seeing it in an elevated way that might elude the casual visitor to that place, and to reveal, as Rick Darke says, the deeper story of each garden, the essential quality and inspiration of that place.

Virginia and I will be appearing at author events through out the Berkshires and our own Litchfield County over the coming months. Come see us! In coming weeks we will be at the Berkshire Botanical Garden Harvest Festival on Oct 5-6, in Stockbridge, MA; October 11 from 11am-4pm at Homeward Bound in Great Barrington, MA and at Oblong Books in Millerton, NY on October 17 from 7-8:30 pm; We will be in NYC on November 6 at 6pm at the Horticultural Society of New York, 148 W 37th St, NY;
